Over 400 people representing businesses across north Hampshire gathered on Thursday evening (18th November) to celebrate their success in the area. The Awards, the largest in the region, are organised by Destination Basingstoke and sponsored by a wide range of businesses, were held in an unusual venue – a vacant business unit in Hatch, Old Basing. The unit was transformed for one night only, from an empty 10,000 sq foot unit into a stylish dinner venue.
On Saturday 6th November 2010, Loddon Valley Lions hosted their 30th Fireworks Fiesta, once again supported by Kestrel FM at the amazing location of Wellington Country Park! The annual St Michael's Hospice Big Wheel 16 Bike Ride was held on Sunday 18th July at Down Grange with over 1100 cyclists making their way around the roads and lanes of North Hampshire to raise funds through sponsorship for the Hospice. Mark and Philip were there with Kate and Vicky from the Street Crew.
Gavin Harris and Dave Trumper were at the Alton Show with the Kestrel FM Surf Rider Simulator and encouraged a host of people to try and win tickets to Losely Live in August. They also had a go themselves!
Kestrel FM were at this years Old Basing Carnival Procession with a Kestrel car and thanks to Alan Gibson Volvo we brought Miss Basingstoke Laura Ashfield to the Carnival in a soft top Volvo. A beautiful but cloudy at times day brought hundreds of people to the recreation field where Laura handed out prizes to the procession winners and others.
A charity football match took place on Saturday 5th June at Winklebury Football Stadium between Team Berg and Hampshire Fire Service. The day raised funds for Help for Heroes and to the memory of the two firefighters who recently lost their lives in Southampton. Philip Hatto atennded and helped with the awards and raffle on the day. Team berg came out 4-0 winners.
Tadley Treacle Fair took place at Saunders Field on Sunday 6th June organised by The Loddon Valley Lions with plenty for all the family at this country fair
The Pitch Perfect Final was held at Alan Gibson Kia with the finalists, who sang so weel the lyrics to songs on air, having a chance to punch a code in a chosen balloon into the little the Kia car. If it opened then the 50 inch TV and the Wii Karaoke found a new home!
Kestrel FM took the Megaslide to Popley Festival and even Philip Hatto and Vicky from the Kestrel FM Street Team had to have a go!
Neil Read took up the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and on Sunday 24th October reached the summit. Nine winners from our Wolfies competition gathered for some great food and to see who won £250. Each balloon contained a prize of beers, wine, family skating tickets, tickets to an Ice Hockey game etc.
Basingstokes Best Boss was an opportunity for employees to nominate their boss by sending us all the great points about the boss. It was a great success and supported by Wote Street Employment Bureau with a fabulous banquet meal for the winner at The Lime Leaf Thai Restaurant.

Snowfall once again hit Basingstoke on January 5th and forced many listeners to stay at home and not venture out on the roads. They sent in photo's of the area and what they got up to.

Kestrel FM and the Barclays Moneyskills Community Project have given one community group in North Hampshire a grant of £1000! Thanks to the votes of the Kestrel Listeners the winner was...... 'Peace of Mind Care' Providing affordable activities for children from 5-25, Peace of Mind Care in Basingstoke and Tadley offer their services regardless of race, ability, gender, religion or family financial status. They provide a Drama and Dance Academy where for a £1 kids can do 45 minutes of dance and 45 minutes of drama. They also run a football Academy. They would like to fund another year of the Drama and Dance academy for over 300 young people in Tadley and Basingstoke.
Once again Kestrel FM hosted the Loddon Valley Lions Grand Firework Fiesta at Wellington Country Park. Kestrel FM's Philip Hatto entertained the thousands who came from the comfort of the Glasshouse by the lake to a wonderful display set to music.

St Michael's Hospice fundraiser took place on Sunday 26th July starting and finishing at Down Grange Sports Complex.

Philip Hatto made an early morning visit to Hook to open the seventh Charity Shop for St Michael's Hospice. As well as ribbon cutting he also made some donations as did many others during the day and sales were very encouraging.

Dance Decades Christmas Parties at The Hampshire Centrecourt Hotel were packed as ever with great partygoers from many local companies and groups of friends all out to party with Philip Hatto. The first party had a theme of Motown and we certainly heard some Motorcity Magic followed by Grease vs Saturday Night Fever!
The top US Elvis tribute performer Jack Smink entertained the audiance at Basingstoke's Academy Club.
The best figures in the history of 107.6 Kestrel FM were attained in Q4 of 2006 - an ideal reason to celebrate with Champagne!
The new Lidl store opened at the West Ham Roundabout on December 14th and three daily winners met up with Philip Hatto to win vouchers to spend in store. All they had to do was guess the actual value of the goods in the trolley.
Valentines Day 2007 saw piles of emails flood into the Kestrel FM studio, with listeners telling us some great love stories together with the revealing of favourite love songs. Throughout the day numerous dedications were played and selected emails were given the ultimate Valentines prize a wonderful bouquet of flowers courtesy of Brambles Florists of Tadley.
At a recent marketing seminar involving Kestrel FM, Kick FM and Delta FM, a business card draw was held offering a £500 holiday voucher for each radio station involved and an overall winner of a Spanish Holiday all supplied by Charter Travel, Hambridge Road, near the Racecourse, Newbury.
Skill Fest came to Festival Place on the 2nd and 3rd of March 2007 with over 30 great opportunities to speak and even take part in some activities that could be a passport to a career change or a new beginning whether of school age or possibly later in life.
