Basingstokes Best Boss was an opportunity for employees to nominate their boss by sending us all the great points about the boss. It was a great success and supported by Wote Street Employment Bureau with a fabulous banquet meal for the winner at The Lime Leaf Thai Restaurant.

Kestrel FM teamed up with Holmwood and Morland Pharmacy in Tadley to gather toys for children at Naomi House Hospice, Children's Ward at North Hants Hospital and Children less fortunate in the community via the Salvation Army network in Basingstoke. Thank you so much, one and all for supporting us this year!

Kestrel FM and the Barclays Moneyskills Community Project have given one community group in North Hampshire a grant of £1000! Thanks to the votes of the Kestrel Listeners the winner was...... 'Peace of Mind Care' Providing affordable activities for children from 5-25, Peace of Mind Care in Basingstoke and Tadley offer their services regardless of race, ability, gender, religion or family financial status. They provide a Drama and Dance Academy where for a £1 kids can do 45 minutes of dance and 45 minutes of drama. They also run a football Academy. They would like to fund another year of the Drama and Dance academy for over 300 young people in Tadley and Basingstoke.

Once again Kestrel FM hosted the Loddon Valley Lions Grand Firework Fiesta at Wellington Country Park. Kestrel FM's Philip Hatto entertained the thousands who came from the comfort of the Glasshouse by the lake to a wonderful display set to music.

Be Safe Be Seen safety stickers have been delivered to Junior and Infant Schools, Nursery's, Boys Brigade, Brownies and Cub Packs across Basingstoke and North Hampshire to make our children more visible in dark mornings and evenings. Anna Baker visited Queen Mary's College to meet students who were collecting their A Level results. Two of them opened them in front of her and gave their reaction on air. She even met some of the parents as well.

From 1pm until 11pm on Christmas Day various groups, organisations and individuals took over the station and presented an hour of great Christmas music and shared their Christmas with Basingstoke and North Hampshire all sponsored by Kingfisher Housing Association.

Scores of Santa's of all shapes, ages and sizes gathered at Eastrop Park on a frosty Sunday morning to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. Taking part was Kestrel Breakfast's Anna Baker.

Philip Hatto made an early morning visit to Hook to open the seventh Charity Shop for St Michael's Hospice. As well as ribbon cutting he also made some donations as did many others during the day and sales were very encouraging.

The Annual Grand Firework Fiesta organised by Loddon Valley Lions took place on Saturday 9th November at Wellington Country Park where Kestrel FM's presenters built up to the Firework display and supplied the soundtrack to the event. The Event was host to the Bar wizards from the TV Show Britain's Got Talent and the Friday Demonstration in Festival Square was with Ready Steady Cook host Ainslie Harriott who visited the Kestrel FM Studio.
