Pete Denton (@djpetedenton) is here from 6am every weekday with great songs, the latest local news and travel, and the latest local events near you.

If you're an early riser, Pete will get your brain in gear with the Kestrel Conundrum. 

Plus of course The Mystery Voice launches just after 7:30am with your chance to win a stash of money in the morning!

If you miss anything, there's a chance to catch up with the Best of Breakfast every Saturday from 12pm.

Meet Pete

Pete’s been working in radio for nearly ten years now and is delighted to have landed here at Kestrel FM.

Born and raised in Surrey, his first job was working as an usher at the local cinema. When he wasn’t tearing tickets at the door he was selling ice creams before the feature film and (reluctantly) leading choruses of the ‘Birthday Song’ to any lucky punters.

Pete is a big fan of Fawlty Towers, The Office and Seinfeld. He goes to the gym as often as he can (but not as often as he should) and loves nothing more than getting out into the local community to find out what’s going on.

He is also a Superman super fan with his very own collection of cool memorabilia which his girlfriend absolutely loves*.

Basingstoke Bison Under 10s

On Wednesday 9th May, Pete went to pick up a cheque on behalf of the Kestrel Kids Trust.

Thanks to the boys and girls from the Bison Under 10 team who raised a whopping £596.18p!!!!!

Concept

Basinsgtoke's very own Boy Band 'Concept' came in recently to tell Pete about their latest single "Our Love" which is out on May 20th.

Coincidentally they're also taking part in celebrity football tournament 'Soccer 6' on the same day.
